Baaghi 4
Review: Tiger Shroff’s Fierce Comeback with Sanjay Dutt but Story Falls Short
Introduction
Bollywood’s popular action franchise Baaghi
has finally returned with its fourth installment – Baaghi 4. Directed by
A. Harsha, the movie stars Tiger Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, Sonam
Bajwa, and Shreyas Talpade in key roles. Released on 5th September 2025, this
film had been creating buzz for months, mainly because it marks the debut of Miss
Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu, and also brings Sanjay Dutt back in a menacing
villain role.
But the big question is – does Baaghi 4
live up to the expectations set by its predecessors? Does it deliver the right
mix of action, emotions, and entertainment, or does it get lost in the chaos of
over-the-top drama? Let’s dive into the full review.
Story of
Baaghi 4
The story revolves around Ronny (Tiger Shroff),
who meets with a brutal accident and slips into a coma. Months later, when he
regains consciousness, he remembers only one person – Alisha (Harnaaz Sandhu).
However, his brother Jeetu (Shreyas Talpade)
insists that no such girl exists and dismisses her as Ronny’s imagination. But
slowly, the layers start peeling off, and it is revealed that Alisha is real –
but now trapped in the clutches of the dangerous gangster Chacko (Sanjay Dutt).
The narrative keeps shifting between past and
present, as Ronny tries to uncover the truth behind Alisha’s disappearance
while battling his own hallucinations. This mix of romance, mystery, and
revenge sets the stage for some heavy-duty action sequences.
Performances
Tiger
Shroff as Ronny
Tiger Shroff once again carries the franchise
on his shoulders. Known for his high-octane stunts and martial arts skills,
Tiger raises the bar in Baaghi 4. His fight scenes are choreographed on
a massive scale, and his physicality is unmatched. What’s refreshing this time
is his attempt at emotional depth – his expressions of anger, pain, and longing
make Ronny more than just an action hero.
Sanjay Dutt
as Chacko
The biggest strength of Baaghi 4 is Sanjay
Dutt’s villainous role. His cold eyes, heavy voice, and ruthless mannerisms
make him a terrifying antagonist. Every scene with Sanjay Dutt has a commanding
presence, and he brings gravitas that keeps the film engaging, even when the
script falters.
Harnaaz
Kaur Sandhu’s Debut
Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu makes her
Bollywood debut with this film, and she gets plenty of screen time to showcase
her talent. She looks stunning, performs action scenes confidently, and brings
freshness to the story. While she occasionally slips into over-dramatization,
her overall performance is impressive for a debut.
Supporting
Cast
- Sonam Bajwa adds
glamour and charm, but her role feels half-baked.
- Shreyas Talpade does
well as Ronny’s brother, though his role deserved more weight.
- Saurabh Sachdeva once
again gets sidelined in a minor role, much like in Animal.
- Upendra Limaye as a
cop makes a strong impact in limited screen time.
Direction
and Screenplay
Director A. Harsha, known for Kannada films,
brings a South Indian flavour to this Bollywood actioner. The film is loud,
stylish, and filled with exaggerated moments – from slow-motion entries to
heroes and villains shouting before fighting. While this style works for mass
audiences, it might feel repetitive for viewers expecting freshness.
The screenplay by Sajid Nadiadwala and team
has its highs and lows. While the buildup creates intrigue, the romance between
Ronny and Alisha is not well-established, making their love story less
convincing. Similarly, Chacko’s obsessive love angle with Avantika (Harnaaz’s
double role) feels forced and second half of the movie feels boaring and some
silly mistakes were seen in the film. The colour of the car before accident of
Ronny was Marron and when accident happen it turned into Black colour car.
These mistakes could have been avoided.
Technical
Excellence
Despite its flaws, Baaghi 4 shines in
its technical departments:
- Cinematography (Nimish Ravi): Stylish
visuals and dark tones enhance the film’s action mood.
- Editing (Chaman Chacko): Crisp
in some parts but could have trimmed the lengthy runtime of 157 minutes.
- Action (Yannick Ben):
High-voltage fight sequences of Tiger Shroff, but the climax fight of
Tiger vs Sanjay Dutt could have been better choreographed.
- Music (Jakes Bejoy): Songs
like Guzara and Marjaana stay with you, while Ye Mera
Husn feels like a recycled version of older Bollywood hits.
- Dialogues (Rajat Arora): Some
lines are clap-worthy and mass-appealing.
Strengths
of Baaghi 4
- Tiger Shroff’s powerful comeback with breathtaking stunts.
- Sanjay Dutt’s menacing performance as Chacko.
- Harnaaz Sandhu’s fresh and impactful debut.
- Big production value – every frame looks grand.
- Background score and visuals keep the adrenaline high.
Weaknesses
of Baaghi 4
- Weak love story – lacks emotional connect.
- Predictable and over-stretched screenplay.
- Heavy reliance on violence makes the film exhausting.
- Runtime of 157 minutes feels unnecessarily long.
- Supporting characters are underdeveloped.
Audience
Reactions
Post release, audiences on social media have
had mixed reactions. While Tiger’s action and Sanjay Dutt’s villainy are being
praised, many viewers feel the story is weak and unnecessarily violent. Some
even called it a Bollywood version of Animal with more blood and less
heart.
Final
Verdict – Watch It or Skip It?
If you are a fan of mass action films, Baaghi
4 is a one-time watch. Tiger Shroff’s high-voltage stunts, Sanjay Dutt’s
villainy, and Harnaaz Sandhu’s fresh presence make it entertaining in parts.
But if you’re looking for a unique story, emotional depth, or freshness, you
may feel disappointed.
